Yearbook Team... Calling all creative minds! The Yearbook Team is looking for photographers, journalists, marketers, and big thinkers to help capture the story of our school year together. See the bulletin board in the math hallway, across from Mrs. Steele's room, for the Google Classroom code to secure your spot on the team!
7th Grade Competitive Cheer Tryouts will be held on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20 from 4:00 - 5:30 at the Fieldhouse. There will be a parent meeting at 5:30 on Tuesday after tryouts.
7th Grade Boys Basketball Tryouts start on Monday, October 19 through Wednesday, October 21 from 5:30 - 7:30 in the Jr. High Gym.

Athletics IF you are trying out for a Winter 1 Sport, the season will begin on Oct 19. Please make sure you are registered in Final Forms and have a cleared physical on file. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Urban in the Guidance/Athletic Office.
Dance Tryouts are on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20 from 3:00 - 5:00 in the Jr. High Cafeteria. There is also an optional pre-tryout clinic on Friday, October 16 from 3:00 - 5:00 in the Jr. High Cafeteria.

Girls Swim & Dive Any girls interested in Swim & Dive, there will be a meeting on Thursday, Oct 15 @ 7:40 in the moring in the Jr. High Gym.
Winter Color Guard... The 7th and 8th grade Winter Color Guard Sign Ups will take place on Thursday, October 15th from 6:30-8:30pm at the Fieldhouse. If you love to dance or perform, this team is for you - no experience needed! Come meet new friends and join our State Champion winter guard!
East Coast Trip... Any 8th grader interested in the East Coast Trip that was unable to attend the informational meeting please see Mr. Fales for more information. In addition, anyone participating in the butter braid fundraiser please turn in your order form with your money to Mr. Fales by Wednesday, October 28.
Off-Season Lifting Opportunity... For students who are not participating in a Winter 1 sport, we are providing an off-season lifting opportunity in the High School Weight Room with Coach Mendoza. Training sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 PM, with the first one on October 27th. We will have in-person sign ups on Thursday, October 22nd. Students who want to participate will need to sign up with Mr. Vanderbeek or Mr. Krombeen. Both of them will be stationed at the benches outside the main office around 7:30 AM on October 22. Due to the demand for this opportunity, the expectation is that students will make it to each training session, or else students could be removed. There will also be a strength training opportunity during the Winter 2 and Spring sports seasons.
Hat Day... This Friday is Hat Day! Bring in $1 and stop by the table at the front entrance to pay your $1 and get your hand stamped to wear your hat all day.

Cross Country Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams for their performances at the Regional Meet yesterday. 7 of the 10 Jenison girls ran season best times. Anisa Braginton earned a medal for her 20th place finish, with a time of 13 minutes and 0 seconds.. 4 of the 10 Jenison boys ran season best times. Braydon Mouw earned a medal for his 3rd place finish. Braydon also set a new school record with a 2 mile time of 10 minutes and 55 seconds.
